Maria Zurita
Maria Zurita received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Texas- San Antonio and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Texas A&M University-San Antonio. She has 11 years working with clients of all populations in different settings. Maria offers her clinical expertise to adolescents, children, adults, and families around issues that include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, stress management, trauma, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and adjustment issues. Maria is passionate about her work and has a warm, welcoming, and compassionate approach to therapy. Maria is fluent in Spanish.
Amanda Criste
Amanda Criste is a Resident in Counseling and National Certified Counselor in Virginia. She received a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Arts in Forensic and Legal Psychology from Marymount University in Arlington, VA. Amanda has experience working with individuals dealing with a variety of mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment issues, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Amanda ascribes to a Person-Centered theory of counseling. With this approach, she assists clients in regaining their natural resilience. Amanda believes that every individual has within them what is necessary to reach their full potential.
Christina Patac
Christina is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor practicing in Virginia. Christina received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Virginia Wesleyan College, and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Christina is a prior service Veteran, having served in the US Army (Active, Reserves, and National Guard). Christina has experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults with depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, LGBTQIA+, military population, multicultural issues/factors, and co-occurring substance abuse issues. Christina’s foundation in her therapeutic approach is Person Centered, utilizing coinciding techniques as seen fit to one’s individual needs. Christina has a collaborative approach in helping to discovering better ways to cope and navigate in overcoming life’s challenges, in a safe and supportive space.
Kayla Horner
Kayla is a Resident in Counseling, Certified Anxiety-Informed Professional (CAIP), and Certified
Trauma Professional (CTP) in Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Neuroscience Studies minor from Longwood University. Kayla then completed her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma,
obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and life
changes. Kayla enjoys assisting individuals through a Person Centered approach. Due to each
individual being the expert in his or her own life, she believes that this approach is especially
helpful in promoting growth and change. Kayla has an empathetic, understanding view of
clients’ struggles and looks forward to walking alongside you in your healing journey.
Lawrence Johnson
Lawrence Johson has over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. He graduated from Liberty University with my master’s in social work with a focus onIndividual and Family therapy. He has an undergraduate degree in Health Promotion and exercise science. Lawrence has certifications in Life Coaching, Mindfulness Coaching and CBT. Lawrence has experience working with men, teens, couples, and first responders. He can assist you with couples counseling, anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood disorders and many more.
